The National Junior Classic is the most prestigious junior basketball tournament in the country. With Male and female teams coming to Melbourne from across Australia to compete over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend each year, spectators are treated to some of the best players from under-12s through to under-18s.
This year’s tournament will be held from 9-11 June 2018, with the tournament games be split between the State Basketball Centre and Dandenong, which will see fans pour in throughout the weekend.

About the Competition
The National Junior Classic is one of the most prestigious junior tournaments in the country. As an invitation-only tournament, entries are capped at 16 per age group, which ensures the nation’s strongest junior representative teams face off across the three-day tournament.
The use of Zone defence is not permitted at the National Junior Classic in the under-12 and under-14 divisions. Details regarding this rule can be found here.
