MUVJBL association award winners announced

ALL positive actions made by an association get recognised by the MUVJBL with the association awards going to those sides that have excelled on and off the court.

The association awards were recently announced with the to Ballarat, Blackburn, McKinnon, Sunbury and Pakenham.

It’s not just about the wins and losses with the league but the way in which your association conducts itself. The spirit you show towards the rest of the teams in your pool and beyond. The way you run your business.

Conduct by the associations towards the league – through making grading payments on time, season payments on time, minimizing reports and attending delegate meetings are some of the bonus criteria a team can accrue off the court.

Increasing team numbers and qualifying sides for the Medibank National Junior Classic also push an association’s case for winning an award.

It was such an increase on top of a great percentage of finals bound teams that earned Victorian Country powerhouse Ballarat the Small Association of the Year accolade.

Blackburn Basketball Association’s diligent attendance at meetings, a Medibank National Junior Classic qualification and its scarce amount of fines and especially reports helped earn the Vikings the Medium Association of the Year nod.

Rounding out the awards was a perennial powerhouse on and off the court throughout Victorian junior basketball as McKinnon notched the Large Association of the Year award with grand final triumphs, increased participation and the thumbs ups up from staff nominations proving big factors in its triumph.

Pakenham Basketball Association rounded out the awards with the Girls Got Game Association of the Year accolade while the MUVJBL Management Support Award was earned by Joe Kearney for his exceptional work out of Sunbury Basketball Association.
