Basketball Victoria statement – Rosebud Secondary College

THE following is a statement from Basketball Victoria regarding Rosebud Secondary College.

A fire has caused damage to the stadium at Rosebud Secondary College today (Thursday 20 June).

The fire at the stadium, home of our member association Southern Peninsula Basketball Association (SPBA), was quickly brought under control, keeping the building structure intact.

The fire started at approximately at 12.30pm today and was quickly contained with all staff and students at the school accounted for.

While the stadium remains intact, the full extent of the damage as well as the cause of the fire are yet to be determined.

Basketball Victoria has been in contact with SPBA and is working with the association and other nearby associations at this time.

There will be some disruption to competitions and programs in the immediate future. SPBA will keep members and participants informed regarding these disruptions as further information comes to hand.

Basketball Victoria kindly asks that participants only contact the SPBA office if the matter is urgent.

Basketball Victoria will make further announcements regarding the venue at the appropriate time.
